
Enjoy San Mateo 2025 in Logroño: a guide for guests and visitors
The San Mateo Wine Harvest is one of Logroño's most iconic festivals. From September 20 to 26, 2025, the city celebrates the harvest with more than 300 activities that combine tradition, gastronomy and Riojan culture.
Main programme
Opening day (September 20)
The «Chupinazo» from the Town Hall balcony opens the festivities with peña gatherings, drinks and large-scale concerts.
Main celebration (September 21)
Traditional grape treading and religious procession, followed by floats parading through the historic centre.
Weekday activities (September 22–25)
- Ceramics fair.
- Professional Basque pelota tournaments.
- Street performances and continuous tastings at the city's bars.
Closing (September 26)
The «Quema de la cuba» (Burning of the Barrel) symbolically closes the festivities with the final concerts.
Beyond the official programme
Take the chance to explore Calle Laurel and San Juan with their pinchos, visit the Cathedral of Santa María de la Redonda, and head to the surrounding wineries to discover the culture of Riojan wine.
